	How much does it cost to join? Are you "really" close to every brother? What do you do for service projects? Do I have to participate in every activity? What do I have to do to be initiated? Why are some things like ritual kept secret? Will joining a fraternity conflict with my religion? How much does it cost to join? New members must pay a one time fee of $350 dollars for the first semester. This is used to purchase their copy of the member manual, their pins, and pay for liability insurance. It is important to realize that the fraternity obtains no money from the new members that will be used towards socials or other chapter operations during their first semester as an associate member of delta chi. After the first semester, members are required to pay $300 dollars each semester that is used to pay for things such as liability insurance, socials, house upkeep, intramurals, and other activities. While it might be impossible for a member to become close to every member of the fraternity, we all share a common respect for one another and their belongings. Delta Chi is a diverse group that is willing to accept you no matter who or what you are, you can see that yourself from our brotherhood. You can witness this first hand at our intramural events as the brothers cheer on each other, or even every week at chapter meetings where we discuss daily operations of the fraternity. While the service projects can change from time to time, in the past we have participated in highway clean-up, raised money for the American Cancer Society as well as Habitat for Humanity. Our current efforts are being focused toward our International philanthropic organization, The V Foundation for cancer research. We also support local charities and events. Return to the Top Do I have to participate in every activity? Members are not required to participate in every activity, but there are a few mandatory events each semester that are required. The fact is that a fraternity is like anything else, you get out of it what you put in. The more you participate, the more that you will feel the bond of brotherhood that Delta Chi's everywhere know. Return to the Top What do I have to do to be initiated? New members are required to participate in weekly associate member education classes. These classes are to teach the associate members the history of the fraternal system, and the history of Delta Chi. In no way are associate members required to participate in any sort of hazing activity to become initiated. Associate members must also obtain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA before they are initiated. Return to the Top Will the fraternity help me academically? Delta Chi has a strong academic policy, members that can not obtain at least a 2.7 GPA are required to attend a weekly study session. In addition to study tables, members in Delta Chi are enrolled in numerous majors, and there is always someone that has taken your class before that can help you. Delta Chi also has a library of old tests and notes from various classes that can be used by anyone to aid in studying. Return to the Top Will I be hazed? What will you guys make me do? Delta Chi has a strict no hazing policy that we follow very closely. Delta Chi believes very firmly in the bonds of brotherhood and believes that hazing only destroys this bond. This is so important to our members, that in 1929 Delta Chi became the first fraternity to abolish "Hell Week". If your parents do not think this is true they may talk to either the president or the rush chairman by calling the Delta Chi House at (419) 372 - 8326. Ritual is the most sacred thing the fraternity has, and associated members must be educated and prove themselves during the rush process before they can learn its secrets. While ritual is kept secret, nothing in it will physically or mentally harm a person, and in no way will it conflict with religious views.
