Delta Chi Chapter Meeting Minutes – 9/11/05

Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by “A”

A – Good job w/ recruitment, not over though.  Keep up positive attitudes.  Roundtables: Wed. Sept. 28th ad 9:30, Comm. Serv: Wed. Sept. 21st at 8.  All-sports champ announced at IFC (Sigma Phi Epsilon).  Leadership Academy, Sept. 24th (designed for sophomores, anyone can go) 10:30-4:30.  AlcoholEDU, all greeks must complete it—look for email over listproc. 

B –  Committee heads, weekly progress forms due today.  Send weekly calendar over email.

C – I sent out the PR forms for initiation, should hear from headquarters later this week with a confirmation.  I will work on getting the new guys on listproc ASAP.

D – Collect dues after chapter. 

E – No Report.

F – Phillip is sick.  Thanks to Shane and Jeff for Sober Brother this weekend.  This weekend it is Doug Slovak and Matt Frey.

Recruitment – Voted on 22 individuals to be bidded, could only give out 20 due to grades, 13 accepted and 6 are holding.  Monday bid meeting after open house.  Tuesday we will hopefully be handing out more bids.  Good job, and keep workin!  Bursar sheets, $5 for recruitment shirts.

AMC – New guys be at the house at 5:45 on Friday for pinning.  First AMC meeting Sunday September 18th at 5 p.m. before chapter.  Assistant AMC BJ, due to large pledge class.  I-Week, starts Sept. 19th: Monday candlepass 9:15, Tuesday move night, Wednesday flag activity at 7 p.m. and dinner with big/little, Friday new member pinning once again at 5 p.m. and then I-Dinner at 7 p.m. and D.O.F. at 8 p.m.  (All events are tentative).  Initiation place will be revealed next week (6 p.m. on Saturday September 24).

BB – No Report.

Standards – Vote on Standards program tonight.

Social – Sept. 29th social for new members, check your email.  Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma for new member pinning.  7:30 Wednesday for committee meeting.

Philanthropy – KKG Golf Scramble: budget will cover half of the cost for this.  We need at least 4 for a team.  See emails this week.  Need proxy for roundtable tomorrow night (8:30 in Olscamp).  California kickball this semester and Earth Ball next semester for our philanthropy.  Meeting next Sunday at 5 before chapter.

Fundraiser – 2 weeks till credit card fundraiser.  Monday September 26.  Student Crew cards, I have 100 to sell.  I am looking into getting them bursarable.  Come see me if you want to sell some. 

Brotherhood – No Report.

Intramurals – Ulitmate Frisbee team Wednesday night.  Football captain’s meeting Wednesday night.

Community Service – First comm. Service event last night went well.  Dog walking for Humane Society?  Looking for volunteers.  Meeting tonight after chapter in same room.

Scholarship – Study Tables start next week.  All newly pinned members, as well as those who will receive an email from me because of grades, will be required to attend one of the three allotted times.  I have a roundtable in 2 weeks.

Web – No Report.

House Manager – watch racial epithets in the house!  Great job on chores!

Dance Marathon – No Report.

PR – Anyone wants me to write any letters, let me know.

Historian – No Report.

House Staff – Weekly “Kudos” award from Jen Lambdin goes to Keith Miller for cleaning up after Slip-n-slide this week.

Old Business – Standards Program.  Motion to open discussion for program: Randall/Darr.  Limit set to 5 minutes.  Discussion ensues.  Motion to vote on program: Darr/Zinni.  Passes. 

New Business – Motion to open floor for discussion on money for Earth Ball: Randall/Cohen.  Discussion again ensues.  Motion to close discussion D’Angelo/Svoboda.  It is decided to take money from savings.  Tabled for next week.

Open Forum – Georges: Incentives for whoever sells the most Student Crew cards…what does anyone want for gift certificate?  Buzzelli: We need to purchase a new kickball for California Kickball.  Runser: New member greek week probably week of Oct. 24.

Announcements – Svoboda: Sign bursar sheet for recruitment shirts!  Johnson: Stay here after chapter if you have a check for dues!
